The year 1854 marks the opening of a small trunk shop in Paris, founded by Louis Vuitton. Little did he know that by doing so will lead to his name being wildly recognizable all around the world. Since it was opened, his fashion designing abilities were second to none, and soon enough, with the help of his son, expanded his market by opening a new shop located at London in 1885, making it the first time a Louis Vuitton shop went overseas.
After trying to counter knock-offs by creating the popular checkerboard-canvas brand, synonymous to the company, and after many swaps between family members for the heritage, some major changes was about to happen by the end of the 20th century. Merging with the company Moët Hennessy in 1987, the first luxury group in the world was born: LVMH. And with the arrival of businessman Bernard Arnault as a shareholder meant a new direction for the company, now broadening its horizon by selling other fashion products, like all kinds of spirits, perfume bottles, watches, and even jewelry.
